Wedding Photography in London at 1 Lombard Street
After a September of weddings in the suburbs it’s back to some wedding photography in London and a receptionĀ 1 Lombard Street
I met up with my Bride, Susan, and her bridesmaids at the Tower Hotel next to St Katherine’s DocksĀ as they were getting ready for her wedding. The bedroom in her top floor suite faced west along the Thames overlooking Tower Bridge (which seemed almost close enough to touch) and also the London skyline’s newest addition, the Shard. Her beautiful dress was designed by Jenny Packham and seemed to suit perfectly the relaxed yet elegant photographs we took later with Susan’s groom, Dave, in the backstreets near St Paul’s Cathedral.
The couple were married near to their home, at St James’ church in West Hampstead. Afterwards, whilst the guests were ferried to 1 Lombard Street on a London bus, I drove with the newlyweds in their superb wedding car (a 1947 2.5l SS Jaguar) to capture the relaxed street photographs they had asked for.
We managed to shoot for around 25 minutes before the autumn skies started to open up and sent us hurrying back to the car and then on to the wedding reception.
Almost everybody seemed to be enjoying the Champagne and canapes served by 1 Lombard Street, however, for some, there were more pressing matters to be attended to.
Dave’s Best Man, Rob had gone to the trouble of preparing a Lonely Planet Guide to his friend which was full of interesting facts and figures…
On the face of it, a large wedding in London covering three different venues could have been a real logistical headache for me but thanks has to go to Erika of Flutterfly Events for organising the whole day brilliantly!
The newlyweds first dance was to the classic Nat King Cole song Let There Be Love.
So, after a wonderful autumn wedding in London, the happy couple are currently honeymooning in Cambodia.

Brilliant Lloyd. These are beautiful. Thanks for all your hard work!
