Winter Wedding at Nonsuch Mansion

Around this time last year I covered a wedding at Nonsuch Mansion and Nonsuch Mansion was covered in snow! This year (to save me from tears?) the weather was a little more clement and we were fortunate enough to enjoy the backdrop of Nonsuch Park for some of the photographs.

Laura and Jon were married at 2pm which at this time of year was just right; it meant that their ceremony in the Orchid Room was flooded with daylight and we then had plenty of time for our outdoor shots.
The bride and her mother and her bridesmaid (also called Laura) prepared in the beautiful bridal room at Nonsuch. Make-up artist Sarah Jagger was working away as Laura was helped ino her gorgeous dress, designed by Ritva Westinus and her bridal shoes from Benjamin Adams.

After the ceremony the couple were greeted at the doors to the mansion by an Honour Guard made up of friends of the newlyweds as Jon is a Major in the British Army.

Given the army connection it was fitting that the day ran like clockwork although this was in no small part due to the great organisation of Sarah Ducker from SJD Events!

The flowers you see throughout this post were the work of Floral Accents.

The couple started the evening celebration with their first dance to Dinah Washington’s ‘At Last’ and are now preparing for a honeymoon in America.

[...] The mansion was full with lit fires, hearty food, so many smiles and lots of servicemen in uniform too. Beautiful. You can see more photos of their day on Lloyd Dobbie’s blog… http://www.lloyddobbie.com/2011/12/winter-wedding-at-nonsuch-mansion-2/ [...]
